Synchrony Financial ($SYF) Q2 Revenue and EPS Surpass Projections; Announces Dividend

Tuesday, Synchrony Financial (NYSE: SYF) reported its second-quarter results prior to market open.

Synchrony Financial generated earnings of $2.59 per share during the quarter, compared with earnings of $2.50 per share reported a year earlier. Analysts had expected earnings of $2.11 per share.

For the reported quarter, the company generated revenue of $4.61 billion, improving from $4.52 billion reported a year earlier and coming in ahead of analyst expectations of $4.34 billion.

The firm announced that its Board of Directors declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.34 per share of common stock. The dividend is payable on August 17, 2026, to holders of record at the close of business on August 5, 2026.

In the second quarter, net interest income increased $87 million, or 2 percent, to $4.6 billion, primarily driven by lower interest-bearing liabilities cost associated with lower benchmark rates, partially offset by lower liquidity portfolio and loan receivables yields.

Brian Doubles, Synchrony’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said: “Synchrony’s second quarter performance reflected clear momentum across our core business drivers.”
