Equifax Inc. (NYSE: EFX) has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Círculo de Crédito, a prominent credit information services company in Mexico, for an enterprise value of $750 million.
This strategic acquisition will enable Equifax to penetrate the rapidly expanding Mexican market, which is the second-largest economy in Latin America.
Círculo de Crédito’s customers will gain access to Equifax’s advanced cloud-native capabilities, EFX.AI technology, and comprehensive identity protection and fraud prevention solutions.
Círculo de Crédito is unique in Mexico for offering both consumer and commercial credit bureau services, serving over 1,700 clients across banking, retail, fintech, small business lending, micro-finance, and telecommunications sectors.
Equifax will acquire all of Círculo de Crédito’s equity from its current shareholders, which include Banca Afirme, Coppel, Grupo Elektra, and a consortium of private investors.
Following the acquisition, Juan Manuel Ruiz Palmieri and his team will continue to lead Círculo de Crédito, integrating into the Equifax International business team.
The transaction is anticipated to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, pending customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals.
