Cal-Maine Foods ($CALM) Misses EPS and Revenue Estimates; Reports YoY Decline

Wednesday, Cal-Maine Foods (NASDAQ: CALM) reported its fourth-quarter results before market open.

The company revealed a decline in earnings per share, which fell to a loss of $0.76, compared to earnings of $7.04 a year earlier. This result was below analyst expectations of earnings of $0.08 per share.

Cal-Maine Foods disclosed quarterly sales of $552.58 million, a decrease from $1.10 billion reported a year earlier. Revenue also fell short of the analyst forecast of $563.83 million.

Sherman Miller, president and chief executive officer of Cal-Maine Foods, said, “Fiscal 2026, culminating in a particularly challenging fourth quarter, reinforced the importance of our strategy to enhance the structural mix of our business, expand our portfolio of products that support more stable and predictable financial performance, and reposition our pricing structure by reducing the impact of market-based pricing.”

Ahead of the open, shares of Cal-Maine Foods, Inc. (NASDAQ: CALM) are down 4.69 percent at $83.16. This represents a decrease of $4.09 from the previous close of $87.25.
