The company recorded earnings of $9.11 per share, which increased from $2.31 per share a year earlier and exceeded analyst expectations of $2.87 per share.
In the latest quarter, Alphabet generated sales of $119.80 billion, surpassing Wall Street estimates of $116.64 billion and rising from $96.43 billion in the prior-year period.

During the second quarter, Google Services revenues grew by 15 percent to $94.5 billion. This was driven by a 17 percent increase in Google Search & other, 15 percent in Google subscriptions, platforms, and devices, and 13 percent in YouTube ads.
Operating margin expanded by 2 percentage points to 34 percent in the second quarter.
