On Wednesday, Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) reported its second-quarter results after market close.
The company posted adjusted earnings of $0.33 per share for the latest quarter, which fell short of analyst expectations of $0.50 per share and represented a 17.5 percent decline from a year earlier.
For the reported quarter, Tesla generated revenue of $28.24 billion, surpassing analyst expectations of $25.71 billion and achieving a year-over-year growth of 25.5 percent.

Second-quarter automotive revenue rose 23% year over year to $20.52 billion, while energy generation and storage revenue increased 13% to $3.14 billion. Services and other revenue climbed 50% to $4.58 billion.
The company posted adjusted EBITDA of $3.27 billion for the quarter, down 4 percent year-over-year, while the EBITDA margin stood at 11.6 percent.
The income from operations was $398 million in the second quarter, reflecting a 57 percent decrease, with an operating margin of 1.47 percent for the quarter.
Tesla had cash, cash equivalents, and short-term investments of $43.52 billion at the end of the quarter.
