BlackBerry ($BB) Q1 EPS Beats, Revenue Surpasses Estimates; Guides FY27 View

On Thursday, BlackBerry (NYSE: BB) reported its first-quarter results before the bell.

The company recorded adjusted earnings of $0.04 per share, surpassing analyst forecasts of $0.03 per share and improving from $0.02 per share a year ago.

BlackBerry generated quarterly sales of $152.90 million, exceeding Wall Street estimates of $138.19 million and rising from $121.70 million in the prior-year period.

John J. Giamatteo, CEO, BlackBerry, commented, “Our first quarter results demonstrate continued momentum following our transformation, as we advance our strategy to drive profitable growth. We exceeded expectations for revenue, profitability, and cash generation through solid performance by our world class QNX and Secure Communications teams.”

For the second quarter of fiscal year 2027, the firm provided earnings guidance in the range of $0.03 to $0.04 per share, compared with analyst expectations of $0.04 per share. Revenue outlook was set between $137.00 million and $148.00 million, versus consensus estimates of $139.54 million.

BlackBerry announced earnings guidance for the fiscal year 2027 in the range of $0.16 to $0.20 per share, compared with analyst expectations of $0.18 per share. Revenue guidance was set between $594.00 million and $621.00 million, versus consensus estimates of $601.89 million.
